Newborn Moments
Congratulations on your Little Miracle! The beauty of an expectant mother is truly one of the most precious things to capture. The deep connection between parents and their little growing baby is special, and it is important to have a visual memory of this fleeting moment to look back on as a family. This is where the adventure begins!
My sessions are relaxed and fun and with my knowledge of my equipment and the use of natural light I aim to bring the love, joy and beauty of this time into your images. Partners and children are more than welcome.
I usually photograph expectant mums when they are between 30 – 35 weeks. At this time your tummy is showing beautifully, and you are not too uncomfortable.
We meet at one of the gorgeous locations that our City has to offer - Beach, Forest, Bush Path, Field or Park. Together we will find a location that suites your personality. I am always open to new locations if you have a special spot.
I have a few gowns that we can use, I suggest wearing clothes that suite you and make you feel good - be it a gown or denim jeans. Bold colours or earthy tones are classic and why not dress it up with some fun accessories like a hat or shawl. If your nearest and dearest are joining us for your Portraite session I recommend they are comfortable and coordinating to your outfit/s.
I do not use props other that a possible blanket, or shawl. Let me know if there is something special that you would like to try and incorporate prior to the session.

My newborn sessions are done in my personal studio with artificial light to create visual memories of this moment in your life that means so much to you. To be enjoyed and treasured from today and forever after!
It is best to book in your newborn session when you are still pregnant, as it is best to photograph newborns when they are 5 – 12 days old. When booking I will take note of your due date and once the baby has arrived and you are feeling a bit better, let me know and we can book in an exact time and date.
Why this time frame you may ask… After two weeks of life, babies become less sleepy and are harder to settle and so are harder to pose. Things like colic and baby acne may flare up as your little treasure get used to living outside Mum.
If you have missed this time frame for any reason, please do not worry. We can still book in a session and capture this special time and create some beautiful images of you and your newborn
Newborn sessions take about 3 hours and are relaxed and tailored to how the baby and new Mum are feeling. This allows for feeding, soothing and lots of cuddling. I will provide clothing and props of the baby. Let me know if there is something special that you would like to try and incorporate prior to the session.
I suggest wearing light layers as the studio is warm for baby, simple classic wardrobe for parents and siblings should be comfortable and coordinating. Try to avoid pictures, words that may distract from the baby.

I suggest coordinating your wardrobe in earthy or bold tones, comfortable clothing for movement and fun. Be inspired by your home décor, since you will be hanging these photos in your house you want to make sure the colors of your clothes go with the color scheme of your home. and try to avoid all white or black which may look unnatural. Accessories can be a fun way of bringing personality to an image.
